George Bryant McNeil Jr.

George Bryant McNeil, Jr. – Was born in Magargal, Alabama on January 22, 1942, and moved to Mobile at an early age. After an extended illness, George went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2012. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. George graduated from Murphy High School in 1960, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from Marine Coating, Inc. George was preceded in death by his parents, George Bryant McNeil, Sr. and Mary Ester Murphy McNeil; brothers, Alvin McNeil and Devon McNeil; and nephew, Gary Cone, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Shirley Greenlee McNeil; daughter, Pamela (William) Kenopke; sons, George “Bryant” (Kitty) McNeil, III and Christopher Paul (Dixie) McNeil; sister, Gladys (Junior) Cone; grandchildren, George B. McNeil, IV, Victoria Kenopke, Juddson Kenopke, Alex McNeil, and Bailey McNeil; great-grandson, Tripp Kenopke; other relatives and friends. Graveside services and interment will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in Mobile Memorial Gardens. A memorial service to celebrate George’s life will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Spring Hill Baptist Church.
