George Nazarian

George Nazarian – a native of Niagara Falls, New York was born to Manoog Nazarian and Takouki (Queenie) Manoogian July 16, 1926. He was a resident of Mobile for 51 years, and died Tuesday, June 30, 2020, surrounded by his family.

Upon graduation from Niagara Falls High School in 1944 he served his country in Europe during World War II in the Army’s 94th Infantry Division. After receiving his honorable discharge in 1946 he attended and graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1952 with degrees in German and Chemistry. In 1955 George was married to his wife of 63 years, Rosemary Eghigian. Mr. Nazarian was proud of his Armenian heritage, was a volunteer at Providence Hospital for over 20 years, and was a life-long fan of Notre Dame football. He was employed by Union Carbide/UOP as a chemist for almost 40 years.

Mr. Nazarian was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; one son, Eric Edward Nazarian; sister, Hermine Rebarick; and brother, Arnold (Kathy) Nazarian.

He is survived by three children, Carl George Nazarian, Aram Philip (Ana) Nazarian, and Ruth Takouhi Nazarian; three grandchildren, Sara Nazarian, Mary Nazarian, and Bre’Yanna Brazier; one sister, Gladys (Joe) Ciraolo; and other relatives.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 10 a.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, AL.

Donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in lieu of flowers.
