George Walton Nichols

George Walton Nichols, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to meet his Savior on November 19, 2017, in his home at the age of 78, surrounded by his family. Mr. Nichols was a native of Sprott, Alabama, born May 19, 1939, and a longtime resident of Chickasaw, Alabama. Mr. Nichols retired from Alabama Power Company, Barry Steam Plant. He was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest E. and Grace Nichols. Mr. Nichols is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Spear Nichols, 2 daughters, Carmen Leigh Nichols Bailey and Angela Nichols (Scott) Dew, 4 grandchildren, Olivia, Morgan, Grace, Audra, 2 great-grandchildren, Keegan and Keeleigh, 1 sister, Jean Wolf, 2 brothers, Bobby R Nichols and Leo Nichols, along with nieces, nephew and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
