George Leroy Powell Jr.

George Leroy Powell, Jr. – a 76 year-old lifelong resident of Theodore passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012. He was a retired office manager who worked for various construction companies throughout his career. He was also a member of the Mobile and Alabama Cattleman’s Associations. Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, George L. “Roy” Powell, Sr. and Audrey E. Powell. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Louise D. Powell; sons, Kenneth G. Powell (Sharon) and Roger J. Powell (April); cousin, Jackie Stork; grandchildren, Daniel R. Powell, Brian M. Powell, Audrey D. Powell, Trenton L. Powell, and Megan D. Powell; great-grandchildren, Genevieve M. Powell, Lydia M. Powell, and Evelyn R. Powell; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 7, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
