Graham Leo Pitts

Graham L. Pitts, 88 of Mobile went to be with the Lord on October13, 2012 after a brief illness. Mr. Pitts was a lifelong resident of Mobile County and was born on December 4, 1923 in Allen, Al. He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer H. and Eva C. Pitts and his wife of 47 years Frances C. Pitts

Mr. Pitts was a veteran of WWII, and served from 1942 - 1946. He was stationed on the island of Hawaii with the U.S. Army, Battery "B" 840th Anti-aircraft artillery, automatic weapons Battalion, and received an honorable discharge upon completion of his service.

Mr. Pitts worked for International Paper Company for 39 years and retired in 1987.

Mr. Pitts was long time member of First Independent Methodist Church, where he served on the church board and school board to Independent Methodist School.

He was a master craftsman in all types of woodworking and fine furniture, as well as an avid gardener and horticulturist.

He is survived by one son, Darrell G. (Diane Huff) Pitts of Wilmer, one daughter, Karen P. (Ted) Pearson of Birmingham, 5 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 2 great-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. on Thursday October 18, 2012 from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 P.M.

Interment will be at Pine Crest West, on Snow Road, in West Mobile with full military honors at the graveside.
