

Dr. Harilaos Ladas, a native and longtime resident of Mobile, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 27, 2013. Harry attended Greystone Christian School and graduated from Davidson High School in 1975. Harry was a graduate of Samford University School of Pharmacy in 1980, where he was a member of Rho Chi Honor Society. He attended the University of South Alabama School of Medicine and graduated in 1987. Harry’s general surgery residency was completed at George Washington University Hospital followed by Neurosurgery residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.
Harry fought a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Many thanks to his dedicated and kind nurse, Mrs. Althea Rudolph and also to his loyal caregiver, Mrs. Annie Coleman. Also, appreciation to Jimmy Pafudakis whose love and friendship was never wavering. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jane E. Ladas and his son, Louis H. Ladas. Dr. Ladas is survived by his son, Michael Ladas, of Germantown, MD and his father, Louis H. Ladas of Mobile; three sisters, Maria (Dimitris) Nikas, Athens, Greece, Harriet Ladas (Vasilios) Rivers Simpsiridis, Mobile, and Cleopatra (Anthony) Bennette, Warner Robbins, GA; one brother, Stavros L. (Stacey) Ladas and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held from the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10 AM. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at Radney Funeral Home from 5 until 8 PM. The Trisagion service will be at 7 PM. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, James Pafudakis, Steve Cordon, Tom Meletis, Dr. Theodore Catranis, Chris Golfos and Gregory Saad.
