Herman Lawrence Smith

He was a United States Army Veteran and a Member of the Shriners past Potentate 2016 and Mystic Mardi Gras Organizations. He loved his family and his dog Sugar.

He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Celest Smith; his son, David Smith, parents, Arthur and Janet Smith and a sister, Della (Jimmy) Sellers.

He is survived by his son, Tracy (Mary) Smith; grandson, John (Tait) Pitt; great-grandsons, Caydon Pitt and Hutton Pitt; brothers and sisters, Karen (James) Lowery, Sharon (Cliff) Lampkin, Drake (Linda) Smith, Deborah Smith, Zandra (Larry) Graham, Barbara (Coonie) Williams and Michelle (Ronnie) Manning; longtime friend, Jimmy Hendricks, also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Herman will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St, Mobile, AL 36606-4061. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Alabama. A final resting place will occur at Mobile Memorial Gardens, Mobile, AL.

Herman will be laid to rest in Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6040 Three Notch Rd., Mobile, Alabama.
