Houston Holmes

Houston Holmes, a native of Samson, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL died on Saturday at home. He was owner and operator of Houston Holmes Diesel Service. Mr. Holmes was a member of Calvary Assembly of God and was a WW II Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Holmes and Mary Weeks Holmes; his wife Nell White Holmes and his son, Terry O’Neal Holmes, Sr. He is survived by his two daughters, Linda Holmes (Robert) Valentine and Kay Holmes (Allen) Cowart both of Mobile, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. The family wishes to thank his caregivers, Sara Jenkins, Joyce Russell and Gloria Townson. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Assembly of God Church on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 1 PM. Visitation will start at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Assembly of God, 6800 Three Notch Rd., Mobile, AL 36619
