Irma Faye Smith

Faye worked in various retail positions before retiring. She was blessed with a gift of decorating and had a keen eye for décor. She loved working in her yard and spending time with her beloved dog, Peppie.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie Smith; brothers, James D. Young, George S. “Buddy” Young, and John P. Young; sisters, Edna E. Lane, Mamie Young, Nellie G. Crews; and her twin, Barbara C. Young.

Faye is survived by her children, David Black, Cynthia Wilson (Chris), Lynn Lindquist (James), and Jesse Black (Sheila); sister, Esther Y. Johnson; faithful companion, Peppie; grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and many other cherished family and friends.

Faye’s family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Michael Meshad and staff for their care and kindness as well as Springhill Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion.

A graveside service will be held for Faye at Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama 36605 on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
