
Mr. James “Terry” Johnston - Born February 19, 1954 - A native of Mobile and a long time resident of Semmes, Alabama surrendered his six year battle with cancer and joined his Savior in heaven Thursday, March 17, 2011 at home with his family. Educated in the Mobile County Public School System, Terry graduated from WP Davidson High School in 1972. He was employed with Food World for more than 25 years until forced into retirement due to his health. Terry was a member of the Snow Road First Baptist Church. Terry was predeceased by his mother, Evelyn Skipper Crow; father, James William Johnston; his step-father, Frank David Crow and nephew, William Jeremy Johnston. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife of nearly 36 years, Laura Greer Johnston. His three beautiful and faithful daughters, Andrea (Tony) Ebright, Melonie (Kyle) Martin, Sarah Faith Johnston and her fiancé Michael Smith. Adored grandchildren – Taylor and Braxton Martin. Other survivors include his twin – William “Derry” (Gina) Johnston; sisters – Cynthia Johnston Spradlin, Audie (Jerry) Jones; brothers – Frank (Joyce) Johnston, David (Theresa) Johnston; in-laws – Lee and Dot Greer (Laura’s parents); Robert (Denise) Greer, Daniel (Dianne) Greer, Tina (Mike) Justice and Libby Butler. As a kind, loving and faithful husband, daddy, papaw, brother, uncle and friend, Terry is blessed to be survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. Through his illness and love for the Lord he has been an inspiration to all. He is loved and will be missed dearly. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 PM, Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10AM from Snow Road First Baptist Church, Semmes, Alabama. Interment will immediately follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
