Jerry Minchew was a person that once you met, you instantly loved. He was one that always lit up a room with his contagious sense of humor, a true family man. He took pride in everything he did. He was what we would like to call a man-of-all-men. He is survived by his wife Delores Minchew of nearly 20 years. She would tell you that he was the absolute love of her life. Together, they were the very definition of what a fun marriage should be. He teased and poked fun and she would give it right back to him and he would just grin so big. He is also survived by his brother Ron (Patricia) Minchew; his children Peggy, Mary, Jerald, David, Deborha, Morrine, James, Cory, and Codie. Jerry was able to enjoy the welcoming of many grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. He was a very blessed man. He is preceded in death by his parents Garvin and Edith Minchew, Brother Garvin (Pudding) Leon, sister Dora Marie, and two daughters Kasnadra Minchew and Tamara Moore. Jerry would tell you he would hunt every day if he could. He was an avid deer hunter. He also thoroughly enjoyed fishing. He was a natural born outdoors-man. In his earlier years, he coached youth sports. This was a true passion of his and something that brought him great joy. But anyone close to him would tell you just how much he loved his Alabama football. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile. Condolences may be offered online at www.radneyfuneralhome-mobile.com..
