
Jerry Green of Mobile, born April 22, 1940, died on Friday, June 10, 2011. He was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Green, his father, Thurston Green, and his first wife of 29 years, Suzanne Green. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Rene Green; sons, Mike Green of Mobile, David (Caroline) Green of Alexandria, VA, and Todd (Tabita) Green of Decorah, IA; brother, Mickey Green, of Vestavia Hills, AL; two granddaughters, Rebecka Green of Decorah, IA, and Mallory Green of Alexandria, VA; stepchildren Trixie Smith of Lansing, MI, Raymond (Becky) Smith and Teresa (Jeff) Smith Haddan of Mobile; stepgrandchildren Tabitha Pierce, Jeremy Anderson, Zachary Anderson, and Gracie Haddan, all of Mobile; nieces and nephews and a multitude of wonderful friends. Jerry was a native of Vincent, AL. He graduated from Ensley High School in 1958 and the University of Montevallo in 1962. He worked as an insurance adjustor after college, moving to Mobile in 1973 to continue his career. He was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and in his retirement, he volunteered with the Alabama Head Injury Foundation. He also loved to visit with his friends at McDonalds for coffee and play Bridge with other friends. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2921 Airport Boulevard, Mobile, on Wednesday, June 15, at 2:30 p.m., with a reception to follow at the church.
