We just want to express our thanksgiving for Joan's life and her generosity to our ministry to children, Wee Can Know and Child Evangelism Fellowship of SW Alabama (when we served there). I am thankful I got to see her a few years ago at Muriel Baldwins house. I am so sorry to hear she is no longer with us but grateful she is safe in the arms of Jesus. May God bless and comfort your family.

On behalf of Woodridge Baptist Church I want to extend our sorrow over the home going of Mrs. Castleberry.  The sorrow is certainly ours and not hers.  She is rejoicing in the presence of Jesus.  She was such an inspiration to our church and to the many she ministered to over the years.  She is indeed an example of a virtuous woman.  We are so thankful for the years the Lord allowed her to be a part of our fellowship.

Joan was one of the sweetest, kind, compassionate souls we have ever met. She had become such a special friend to us in just a few short years and we
shall miss her so deeply.  It will not
be the same not being able to sit with
her in worship service.  Our deepest sympathy.

I'm so sorry about your loss, and that I didn't learn of it until a few minutes ago.  I worked with Jack in International Paper and had fun with him as a member of the local model railroad club, and we shared an interest in the Cotton Belt Railroad that ran through his home town as well as mine.  I didn't know Joan well, but she was always such a gracious host when we had train club meetings at their house, and I know she will be greatly missed.

You all are in our thoughts and prayers.  We wish Daddy had been well enough to travel.  Since his stroke he has to use a wheel chair.  But know how much he loved his sister.  They had a regular schedule of keeping up with each other, it was so sweet. We know how losing you mother feels, but knowing both our moms are with Jesus is such a peace.. Love , Teresa and Andrea

Joan was a mirror image of her mother (Mary), our grandmother.  A genuine lady, a true Christian.  She was more of a sister than aunt and her memory will be celebrated time and again as many events will remind us of her.  Her  love, smile, laughter, music and prayers will sustain us for the remainder of our lives.

Really enjoyed knowing Joan through the years at church and at Greystone school. So sorry to hear of her passing. My deepest sympathy and prayers for Jack, Margaret, Mary and the rest of the Castleberry family. My children (Lynn, Noel & Arthur) send their condolences as well.

I loved Mrs. Castleberry and so many others did....She was a lovely Christian and it showed. She was one of the music teachers when I taught in the grade school at Greystone Christian School many years ago. I know she is with the Lord. Praying for all the family.

Joan was a special friend to me as well as many others.  She and I were fellow teachers at Greystone for many years. I remember the music staff meetings we had together as special times of devotion and prayer for the needs of staff and students.  It was a privilege to have worked with her in the school and in Greystone Bible Church throughout the years.  She will be missed.  Mary, Margaret, and families, my husband and I will be praying for you in the coming days that will Lord will be your strength and will lift up your hearts.  We pray for Jack also, that the Lord will be his comfort and meet his needs. Carol

Mrs. Castleberry was a true jewel in the crown of God. She touched everyone she met and always shone her light for Jesus. She was always someone I could count on for advice and most especially prayer. She was my music teacher, my neighbor, and most of all my friend. I was truly blessed to have her in my life. May God comfort you truly in this time - Margaret, Mary, Mr. Castleberry and the rest of your family. My prayers are with you. I wish I could be with you in person tomorrow, but know I will be praying and will be with you in spirit.

Joan was my best friend in Mobile.  She and Jack made me part of their family.  They all shaped my life and gave me lasting great memories. She was one special lady and I will miss her.  Hugs to Jack, Mary and Margaret.

Dearest Auntie Joan you will be sadly missed however we all know where you are today 3/13/2014. I will always remember you as one of the kindest most loving person that can be known. Will remember those nights we spent with you at Grandma Nelsons. Love and miss you. HERB

Dear Uncle Jack, Mary, Margaret, Uncle Frank and families, 

    We were so sorry to hear about Aunt Joan.  She will be greatly missed by all of us.  We will miss hearing her sweet voice and reading her letters, cards and emails.  She is such a special person, Aunt and friend that we will never forget.  It is comforting to know that she is having a wonderful family reunion today in Heaven with our loved ones, especially with my Mom, Janice Nelson.  I am sending hugs and prayers from Colorado and wish that we could be there with you all on Friday.  Much love to all.
