Joan Patricia Ray Rountree passed away Monday, June 27, 2022. A native of Mobile, Pat as she was called, graduated from Murphy High School and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority. After graduation she worked at Merchants Bank until her marriage in 1953.
A devoted wife and mother, Pat assisted as Cub Scout den mother and was a Red CN)SS volunteer at Davidson High School. She was an active member of the Jackson Heights Garden Club as well as working with her husband at Rountree Advertising Graphics until retirement. Pat enjoyed cooking for family on holidays and special occasions and loved any opportunity to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Rountree was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William Fred Rountree, Jr.. She is survived by her daughter, Sherrill (Sherry) Rountree Bramlett of Mobile, her son William Ray Rountree (Cherry Marlar Rountree) of Brandon, MS. one brother, Austin LeGrande (Buddy) Ray, Jr. of Mobile, one granddaughter, Amanda Bramlett Synowsky (James Stephen Synowsky, Jr.) of Decatur, GA, four grandsons, William Justin Rountree (Heather Langan Rountree), Ross Eugene Rountree (Morgan Avery Rountree) all of Mobile, William Townsend Rountree and John Holleman Rountree both of Brandon, MS., one niece, Angela Ray (Conny F. Fredriksson) of Goshen, KY, one nephew, Austin L Ray 111 (Christi Robertson Ray) of North Palm Beach, FL, one great niece Olivia Brenda Fredriksson and 5 lovely great granddaughters.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Mrs. Rountree will be laid to rest at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort at 1:30 p.m.
