Joann Glover Melton

Mrs. Joann Glover Melton, age 85, resident of Madison, MS and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edwin Melton, parents, Glenn Elton and Mary Lee Glover, brothers, Glenn Elton Glover, Jr., Dr. John Lee Glover and granddaughter, Catherine Melton. Mrs. Melton was a graduate of Vanderbilt University where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was active in the Mobile area arts and was a member of the Mobile Museum of Arts, the New Mobilians and the Cosmopolitan Womens Club. She enjoyed playing bridge and loved cooking for family and friends. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Her family will remember her graciousness to others and as a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother (Baba). Mrs. Melton is survived by her children; Robert Edwin Melton, II (Colleen), Savannah, GA, Thomas Glenn Melton (Lynn), Troy, AL, Mary Melton Parenteau (Bob), Madison, MS and Carol Ann Melton, Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Christina Melton Bryant (Graham), Robert Edwin Melton, III, Mary Joanna Melton, Emily Ann Melton, Robert Scott Parenteau, Jr. (Lisa), Sara Parenteau Sahler (Andy) and great-grandson, William Edwin Parenteau. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
