Joel Craig Swanson

Joel Craig Swanson, age 69, passed away October 6, 2017 in Mobile, AL. A native of Port Arthur, TX. Craig was the son of local business executive Joel Oliver Swanson, who preceded him and Marilyn Morris Swanson of Mobile. He was a member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, Craig is survived by his sister, Jan Swanson of Mobile, brother, Kirk Swanson of Alexandria, VA, brother-in-law Dallas Baillio of Mobile and niece Alison Connelly of Chicago, as well as many other relatives and friends in Texas, Alabama and Virginia. The family is especially grateful to the staff and residents of the Mulherin Home and the Marx Group Home for the care and support that enriched Craig’s life. He will be fondly remembered, admired and celebrated for his youthful antics, his loving personality, his inspiring strength in enduring lifelong hardships, and his pure soul. Those wishing to honor Craig’s memory may do so by contributing to Mobile Arc (MARC) or Dauphin Way United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Monday, October 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
