

John is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Irma “Nuny” French, his children Julie French (Hogan Hanlon), Mike Cantrell (Sammie), Ray Brunson and Ramona “Monie” Russo (Mike), his granddaughter Summer Jacobs (Ross); his great grandchildren, Ross Jacobs Jr. and Harris Jacobs; his brothers, James Francis French, Lorenzo George French, Jr., Richard Lee French; his sisters Betty Jean Moore, Ellen Rae Beuk, and Norma K West. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Denise Inge; his brother, Forrest Campbell French; and his sisters, Norma Emley Lindstrom and Anna “Bunny” French McIntosh.
John was born on June 26, 1936 in Mobile, AL to Lorenzo French and Anna Fox. He served in the United States Air Force and served in Korea. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, John worked as a conductor in the railroad industry for over 30 years. He loved his family and spending time with them. John also loved bass fishing with his best friend Bobby Huff.
A visitation will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday August 2, 2023 with a service following at 1:00 PM at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery following the service. Flowers and condolences may be sent to 3155 Dauphin St, Mobile, AL 36606
