John Alvin Gaston

Mr. John Alvin Gaston, age 70. A lifelong resident of Tanner Williams, Alabama died on Sunday, September 23, 2012. Mr. Gaston was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was a cabinet maker and catfish farmer. After the loss of his right eye he worked with his son-in-law in the construction business. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Mattie Gaston; grandchildren, Jon Aaron Gaston, Michael and Rebecca Reed.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Julia Annel Howell Gaston; children, Michelle "Micha" (Rufus) Reed, Tina Louanne Gaston (Mark) Davis, Shane Elroy (Lori) Gaston; brother, Albert Gaston; sister, Bertha G. Schaffer; grandchildren, Lacey Davis Martin, Julie Davis, Gavin Davis, Cordell Reed, Patrick Reed, Leah Gaston and Kristina Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 12 noon from Trinity Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday 10:30 AM until service time. Interment will be in Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Tanner Williams Assembly of God Building Fund.
