John England Harrington Sr.

John England Harrington, Sr., age 83, a native and longtime resident of Mobile, Al, passed away on Wednesday. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Buccaneer Yacht Club and served as Commodore in 1979. What he enjoyed most was spending time and celebrating life with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Stewart Harrington; his children, Janet H. (Larry) McElhany, John E. (Debra) Harrington, Jr. all of Mobile; grandchildren, Jeremy M. Cannon, Grady Lee (Stephanie) McElhany, Ashley L. (Alex) Swain, Amanda C. (Scott) Corley, Elizabeth H. (Kevin) Barry, Brett E. Harrington, Eric D. (Leslee) Harrington; five great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lynn Harrington, Mobile, AL, Sheila McElhany, the widow of Brian A. McElhany, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by a son, James D. Harrington and a grandson, Brian A. McElhany.

Visitation will be Monday, March 10, 2014 from 12 until 2 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside services and internment will be held at 2 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
