John Wesley Williams, Sr. (Johnny) age 77, died at home on May 29, 2018. Johnny was a lifetime resident of Mobile, AL, graduate of Murphy High School and retired from First National Bank/Amsouth Bank. He was a long-time parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus - 4th degree and member of several mystic societies. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents William (Bill) and Mary Agnes (Mae) Williams, Sisters Betty Williams Lee, Naomi Williams Brady and son in law Stephen Francis Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra Sanford Williams, Sons John Wesley Williams, Jr (Liz), Hugh Andrew Williams (Susan), daughter Michelle Williams Thompson, Grandchildren John Wesley Williams, III (Sarah), Elyse Williams Piecuch (Thomas), Stephen Benton Thompson, Bradley McDermott Thompson, Blake Sanford Thompson, Andrew Stockton Williams and John Patrick Williams. Great grandchild Mary Lettie Williams, who stole her Papa’s heart. Sister Barbara Jean Williams Hartley, Brothers William Ernest Williams (Mary) and James Clarke (Dit) Williams (Janet). Johnny’s passions were his family, his Holy Family Catholic Church family, Alabama Football, the Knights of Columbus, being with his grandchildren and his great grandchild. Johnny loved life and always made those around him laugh with his spontaneous comments and jokes. Special thanks to all of Johnny’s Nurses and Rotary workers at Mobile Infirmary as well as the nurses and care takers at Springhill Home Health and Hospice. Visitation at Radney funeral home on Dauphin Street Thursday May 31, 2018 at 5PM, Rosary at 7:00PM, Funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church Friday June 1, 2018 at 11:30AM.
