Joseph Dixon Duckworth Jr.

Joseph Dixon Duckworth, Jr., November 17, 1919 - September 20, 2013, passed away at the age of 93. He was born in Newton County, MS and was a resident of Mobile, AL since 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Dixon Duckworth, Sr. and Bertha Lewis Duckworth; his wife of 58 years, Martha Evans Duckworth; and his three siblings.

He is remembered as a loving and devoted father by his three children, Joseph "Dick" Dixon Duckworth, III, Alice Duckworth Hill and Jeanne Duckworth Pitts (Mac). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael Christian Pitts, Lauren Hill Robbins (Jason), Andrew McGraw Pitts, Anna Hill Grantham (Samuel), and Jeffrey Browning Pitts, and six great-grandchildren.

He was a kindhearted man who loved well and lived life to its very fullest. He will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home-Dauphin Street on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 12 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
