Mr. Robinson served with the United States Army as a Paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne Brigade during Vietnam, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star.
He retired from American Commercial Barge as a Tugboat Captain. Mr. Robinson was an avid fisherman – it was honestly a God-given talent for him. It was once said that he could “catch a fish out of a mud puddle”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mary Agnes Robinson; three brothers, Phelan B. Robinson, Harry C. Robinson, and Leon M. Robinson; and three sisters, Margaret Boyer, Inez Smith, and Isabella Harris.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his sister, Peggy Prescott (Chuck); a very special niece and her fiance, who cared for him throughout the years, Angela Tunink and Jason Morris; great-nephews, Cody and Ryan Tunink; sister-in-law, Denise Robinson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
