J.E., as he was called growing up, began his great work ethic as a “soda Jerk” in an ice cream parlor. He graduated Murphy High School midterm, and enlisted in the 31st Military Police-Army, during the Korean conflict. After serving 2 years, he discharged out and began work with Bell Telephone Co. He then went to Western Electric, Brookley AFB (GEEIA), and finally with The Corps of Engineers, from which he retired.
During his working years, he built (literally), a lovely home for his family, and after retirement he built another one on 10 acres in Mississippi. After 25 years, declining health brought him back to his home city of Mobile.
This great man of God and Faith will be missed, but we will see him again in Glory.
