

Katherine Lucille Hendley Taylor,94, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 1, 2024. She was born to John Albert Hendley, Sr. and Ruby Lee Hendley on April 23, 1930, in Yantley, Alabama. Katherine was a sassy and spirited woman. She loved her family – especially her grandbabies and great grandbabies. She was a stylist part time for many years but her greatest role was being, Mamaw! Katherine was a faithful Southern Baptist, although not able to attend services due to her illness the last few years, she was a proud member of First Baptist Spanish Fort. Katherine was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Greenberry Bush Taylor, Sr.; father, John Albert Hendley, Sr.; mother, Ruby Lee Hendley; son, Greenberry Bush Taylor, Jr.; and five brothers: John Jr., J.W., Nelson, Billy Joe, and Tim Hendley.
She is survived by daughter, Kay Taylor Williams (Scottie); daughter-in-law, Ann Newburn Taylor; grandchildren, Lauren Taylor Ramsay (Craig), Shai Taylor Markris (Jake), Justin Daniel Taylor (Susan), Brandy Williams Lister (Hayes), Taylor Scott Williams (Leslie), Mallory Taylor DiBartolo (Josh), Greenberry Bush Taylor III (Amanda); great-grandchildren: Ryan, Caroline and William Ramsay; Jacob, Lawson and Alex Markris; Taylor, Thomas, Liberty, Ben, Felicity, Charlotte, Oliver and Simon Williams; Virginia and Madeline Taylor; Mary and Lauren Lister; Francis DiBartolo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Spanish Fort in Katherine's honor.
