Larry Keith Evans

Larry Keith Evans, 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama. He was born to Elvedus and Rachel Miles Evans on January 24, 1946, in Winfield, Alabama. Larry served with the United States Navy from 1965 until 1969. He retired from AT&T after a 35-year career. Larry spent three years taking care of his beloved wife of 35 years while she battled and eventually succumbed to cancer. He was an extraordinarily loyal person and took pride in his children and grandchildren.

Larry was a long-time member of Fulton Road Baptist Church in Mobile. He was an honorary member of Order of Incas. Larry was an avid reader, and enjoyed flounder fishing, fish fries, Alabama football and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Catherine “Cathi” Evans; his parents; and one sister, Doris Elder.

He is survived by his two sons, Keith Evans (Cristy) and Jimmy Norwood (Candice); two grandchildren, Skylar Sweatt (Ryan) and Jordan Norwood; one sister, Linda Lassiter; as well as other cherished family and friends.

Visitation for Larry will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Pine Crest funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile, with a graveside service in Pine Crest Cemetery immediately following.
