He graduated from Warren Easton High School in New Orleans, LA. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy. He was deployed on USS DuPage (APA-41) where he served in WWII. He received a Victory Ribbon, American Theater, Asiatic Pacific (One Star), and Philippine Liberation Honors. Buddy was employed with NASA and retired from Michoud Assembly New Orleans, LA in 1980.
Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Wilson.
He is survived by the mother of his children Jewel Hare Wilson; four children: Stephen D. Wilson of Lake George, FL, Rodney A. Wilson (Gail) of Carriere, MS, David L. Wilson (Suzan) Picayune, MS, and Cynthia H. Harmon of Gulf Shores, AL; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren with one on the way; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one step-son, Tom K. Irving (Kathleen) Katy, TX; 2 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; as well as other cherished family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Monday, September 28, 2020, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., with a Graveside Service immediately following in Pine Crest Cemetery.
