Lindsey Noble Sheffield, 83, passed away at Covenant Hospice in Mobile, Alabama on Saturday, August 1, 2020. He was born and spent his childhood in Thomaston, Alabama, but later moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Mr. Sheffield graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School where he lettered in football, baseball, and track. He attended the University of Alabama and served the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1964. He worked as an electrical and instrumentation designer for various engineering firms in the Mobile Area. His work was concentrated at Scott Paper Company. He was a long-time member of Orchard Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Jane Moody Sheffield; his father, Tosh Quentus Sheffield, and his mother, Fannie Grey Cobb Sheffield.
He is survived by his son, Lindsey N. Sheffield, Jr. (Angie), and his daughter, Susan Sheffield Powers (Tom).
Mr. Sheffield was the proud and loving grandfather of five grandchildren: Matthew Lindsey Sheffield, Kathleen Grace Powers, Mary Elizabeth Sheffield, Marguerite Jane Powers, and Claire Lorraine Powers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Orchard Baptist Church.
