Loretta Mary Hickman DeTiege

Mrs. Loretta M. DeTiege, age 91, lifelong resident of Mon Louis Island, passed into Glory on Thursday, December 4, 2014at her home with one of her grandchildren (Venus Sweatt) sitting at her bedside reading mama’s prayers to her. She is preceded in death by her parents Pauline and Leo Hickman, husband Bill DeTiege and two of her children Gary and Jerry DeTiege. Loretta was an attending member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She is survived by two children, Vivian (Frenchie) and Terry. She is also survived by brother Allen (Gwen) Hickman, granddaughters Cammie (Randy) Adams, Venus (Terry) Sweatt, Elisa (Justin) Carroll, grandsons Damien DeTeige, Paul (Mirreille) DeTiege, Jeremy Carroll, Michael Gobin, Jason De Tiege, a host of great-grandbabies, her best friends of many years Erline Dembo and Delores Hickman, devoted friends and cousins, special niece Alma (George) Hickman McAlman and brother-in-law Claude Doublet. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
