
Loretta Lucile Benne Schlecht – Born in Stanton County, NE on March 21, 1917, the only child of the union of Minnie Maria Augusta Schultze and Victor Albert Benne, died Tuesday, March 16, 2011, in Mobile, AL, where she lived since January, 2005. She was educated in public and parochial schools in Stanton, NE and graduated from Stanton High School. A lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, she married The Reverend Willard Ernest William Schlecht on October 12, 1937. Her husband pastored churches in Alamo, TX, San Antonio, TX, and Baton Rouge, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband in December, 1976, The Reverend Willard Ernest William Schlecht; her daughters, Judith Ann Schlecht Klute and Margaret Ruth Schlecht Palmer; grandsons, Todd Fredrick Klute and David William Schlecht, Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Ashley Ann Lambson. Survivors include her children, Mary Elizabeth Schlecht (Dwayne) Orth of Brule, NE, Anita Louise Schlecht (Edgar) Wall of Hampton, NE, Paul John (Maria) Schlecht of Nashville, TN, Joyce Elaine Schlecht (Barry) Langley of Mobile, AL, and David William (Joyce) Schlecht of Newkirk, OK; son-in-law, Fredrick William Klute of Atlantic, IA; grandchildren, Alan Victor Dicke of Ft. Collins, CO, Loretta Ann Dicke (Randy) Haskett of Ft. Collins, CO, James Lynn (Janette) Dicke of Ft. Funeral services will be held from Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, NE on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.
