

Luvonia Mae Smith McJohnston of Mobile was called home by our Lord and Savior on November 29, 2010 in Lake Jackson, TX. She was born in Georgiana, Butler County, AL, on January 11, 1906, to J.T. and Nevada Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry McJohnston; daughter, Lillian Mae Guagenti; son, Louis P. McJohnston; her parents, J.T. and Nevada Smith; sisters, Eunice Dix, Gladys Webb and Adelle Davis; brothers, Lester Smith, Vinson Smith, Conrad Smith and Benard Smith. Luvonia is survived by her son, Zola Newell and wife, Louise Carter McJohnston, Lake Jackson, TX; grandchildren, Linda Beaver, Angleton, TX., John McJohnston, Thailand; Diane Sealy, Richwood, TX., Sharon Bevers, Lake Jackson, TX., Debra McDonald, Mobile, AL., Andy McJohnston, Melissa, TX., Michael McJohnston, Glendale, AZ., John Guagenti and Frank Guagenti, both of New Jersey; 15 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a member of Government Street Methodist Church. Luvonia was known for being an excellent seamstress. She will be remembered by her beautiful flowers in her yard. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
