
She was preceded in death by her parents, John William and Ethel Pugh McLeod, as well as all of her siblings, William McLeod, Jr.; Ethyl M. Adkins; Lamar Y. McLeod, II; and Alan McLeod. Margaret was a lifelong member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church. She graduated from Murphy High School and attended the University of Alabama. She and Billy were married on June 11, 1948. She will be remembered by family and friends as being the epitome of a loving and dutiful wife and mother, as sweet and kind on the inside as she was pretty on the outside.
Margaret is survived by her husband, their 4 children and their children's spouses, 15 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. Her children are: Charles R. (Pam Stimpson) Hanes; Fred T. (Alicia) Stimpson, III; W. Sandys (Jean) Stimpson; and Richard M. (Leah) Stimpson. Their grandchildren include: Robert L. (Braden Hanes) Grafe; Taylor W. (Carla) Hanes; Charles R. (Leann) Hanes; William S. (Elisabeth) Hanes, Pamela M. Hanes; Steven J. (Mary Alicia Stimpson) DeFrancis; Blake N. (Ashley Stimpson) Jones; Taylor C. Stimpson, William H. (Beth) Stimpson, II; W. Garner (Virginia Stimpson) Jeffery; Sandys M. (Christina) Stimpson; William H. (Nancy Stimpson) Vandervoort; Hardy (Margaret Stimpson) Mitchell; Amelia F. Stimpson, and Frederick T. Stimpson, IV.
Visitation will be at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Spring Hill Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Dauphin Way United Methodist Church.
