Margaret (“Peggy”) West, a native of Mobile and resident of Daphne, AL, died on December 16 at the age of 94. With her passing, her family and friends lost someone who found joy every day of her life. After graduating from Murphy High School and Trinity College in Washington, DC, she returned to Mobile where she met and married her first husband, Al Tenhundfeld. After raising 5 children with Al, Peggy went back to school and earned a master’s degree in counseling, which she used while providing volunteer hospice care. Peggy became a widow in 1982 and remained so until 1999 when, at the age of 77, she married Warren West. Peggy and Warren had 17 wonderful years together until his passing earlier this year. Peggy is survived by her children, Janet Traeger (Rich), Al Tenhundfeld, Jr. (Linda), Lynn Howard (Joe), Cathy Seward, and Mark Tenhundfeld (Lynda); 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. Family will receive friends in celebration of Peggy's life at Christ the King Church on Monday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. The family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
