
Marian "Frankie" Watters was born on August 30, 1925 in Marion, South Carolina. She married Harold A. Watters, Jr. in Mobile, Alabama on November 23, 1947. Frankie went to be with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on February 17, 2011. She is survived by her husband Harold, her children Agnes Markie Watters-Reneke, Mac Watters and wife Joyce, Richard L. Watters, Lida Marie Watters-Robert and Curran Brinkman Watters, Sr. and wife Carolyn, her grandchildren Nichole "Niki" Reneke, Chad Scott, Rod Scott, Corey Scott, Lori Watters-Adkison, Benjamin Robert, Nicholas Robert, Harold Adam Watters, Amanda Bryson Watters, Grace Callaway Watters and Curran B. Watters, Jr. and her great-grandchildren Morgan Kathleen Dutton, Gregory "Stretch" Jordan, Jr., Amber Scott, Garrett Scott Amanda Scott, Andrew Scott, Noah Scott, Parker Scott, Nicholas Adkison and Nolan Adkison. Frankie was preceded in death by her mother, father and granddaughter (Kathleen "Kathy" Reneke). Frankie moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1942 and worked as a welder at Gulf Shipyard. She transferred to Charleston, South Carolina to work as a welder building Navy Destroyers during World War II. While in Charleston she accepted an opportunity to become a Nurse Cadet for the War effort and relocated back to Mobile, Alabama. She began her Nursing Training at Providence Hospital. Upon graduating as a Registered Nurse she married Harold A. Watters, Jr. and started her nursing career. She began working at Allen Memorial Hospital. She then worked as a Private Duty nurse for a short period before accepting a job at City Hospital. She then worked at Brookley Air Force Dispensary as the only Visiting nurse before devoting the rest of her life to her children and her husband's business (Colonial Floor Coverings). A memorial service will be held at Forest Hill United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM on Saturday-February 26, 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in the name of Frankie Watters to Forest Hill United Methodist Church Mobile, AL or Saint Jude's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
