Mrs. Marie Harrington Jernigan

Marie Harrington Jernigan, a native of Mobile, passed away at her home at Sacred Heart Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor on Thursday, August 19, 2010 surrounded by her family and the Sisters of the Sacred Heart. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

Mrs. Jernigan was preceded in death by her parents Stephen B. Harrington and Ida Donohue Harrington, her husband William Gavin Jernigan, her brother Stephen Harrington and grandson William A. Lackey. She is survived by daughters Catherine J. (Jim) Lackey and Frances J. (John) Saint, brothers John E. (Barbara) Harrington and Frank H. (Marie) Harrington, sister Mary H. Bjorklund, grandchildren James H. (Angela) Lackey, William B. Saint, Karen S. (Sean) Sullivan, Susan S. (Jason) Veasey, great-grandchildren, Grant and Benjamin Lackey, Jack, Gavin, Cecilia, and Cate Veasey and Anna Frances Sullivan, and other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 21, 2010 from the chapel of the Sacred Heart Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the Sacred Heart Residence. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor or St. Mary's Home for Children.
