
Martha Miller Forsythe, age 85, native of Louisville, KY, longtime resident of Jacksonville, FL and current resident of Mobile, AL, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents Lorenzo Kenneth and Louise Daubert Miller and niece Catherine Martha Driscoll. She was the former spouse of Commander Forrest Forsythe. Martha was a world traveler who especially loved New Orleans music. She attended the University of Alabama on a track scholarship and later Castleton College in Rutland, Vermont. She was a former Career Counselor at Jones College, Jacksonville, FL, and was always politically active in her community. She was appointed to the Governor’s Commission on the Status of Women while living in Vermont. Martha will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother. She is is survived by her children, Melynda Forsythe, Mobile, AL, Forrest Forsythe, Wellington, New Zealand, Scott Forsythe “of the world” and Lee Forsythe also “of the world”. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Louise Ayland (Bill) and four grandchildren, Tim Lukas Leinert, Taylor Lenore Forsythe, Alicia Forsythe and Tekoah Independence Forsythe. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials donations may be offered to UNICEF in Martha’s memory.
