Martha Horn Otts

Mrs. Martha Jane Horn Otts, age 81, native of Greensboro, AL, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Oliver Otts, parents; Boyd Fletcher and Esther Elizabeth Johnson Horn, Sr. and brother, Boyd Horn, Jr. Mrs. Otts was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She attended University of Montevallo and University of Alabama majoring in Art and Music. She was a classical pianist, enjoyed history, the arts and gardening. One of her fondest memories was of her childhood, living in the ancestral home in Greensboro. Mrs. Otts is survived by her children; Suzanne Olivia Otts Ashurst (Morgan), Phillip Oliver Otts (Jane), Mary Esther Otts Kennelly (Jim) and Martha McEachin Benton (Thomas Hart). She also leaves to cherish her memory her four grandchildren, John Nicholson Otts, Thomas Hart Benton, III, Olivia McEachin Benton, Olivia Page Ashurst, Siobahn Kaile Kennelly, Olivia Grace Otts, Kiera Elizabeth Kennelly, Isabella Grace Benton, Henry Oliver Otts, sister-in-law, Ruth Horn, nephew, Boyd Fletcher Horn, III (Kimberly) and their children, Clay Horn, Brian Horn, Alexander Horn, Anderson Horn, cousins; Frances Horn Adams (Bennie), Claire Horn Ryan (Tanner), Kerri McLain (Hilton), Steven Horn (Belvaly) and their son, Christopher . The family would like to express their gratitude to caregivers, Jeanora Presley, Rose Johnson and Charlie Holmes for their dedication and loving care of their mother. A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Greensboro, AL. Inurnment will be in the family cemetery.
