Merle Hallock Barackman Jr.

The family will hold a private celebration of his life. Merle was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 25, 1931 to Merle Hallock Barakman Sr. and Maxine Hoffman Barackman. Merle had a full life filled with friends and family. He worked in sales and advertizing for many years, retiring from WKRG-TV 5 in Mobile in 1999. His passion for the game of golf sent him all over the country to play in tournaments. As a special triumph he achieved 10 holes in one during his lifetime, with the last one at the age of 81. He also loved jazz music and was on the board of directors for the Mobile Jazz Festival. Merle is survived by his Daughter: Kendall Barackman Carre of Laguna Beach, CA; Daughter : Brook Hallock Barackman (Darryl) Fairchild of Mobile, AL; Son: Brock Ralph Barackman of Gulf Shores, AL; Grandson: Robert Brooks Fairchild of Mobile, AL; Grandson: Nicholas Orion Carre of Laguna Beach, CA; Grandson: Mark David Barackman Jr. of Livingston, AL; Great Grandson: Nathan Barackman; other family and friends.
