

Michael Watts Esfeller, Sr. age 58 passed away on November 15, 2014. Michael Esfeller was a devoted family man. He was married to Patricia Ann Williams Esfeller for 35 years. He had two sons, Michael Watts Esfeller, Jr. (Emilie), and David Watts Esfeller, Sr. (Melissa). He was proud of his sons and his grandchildren, Evan, William, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Charles, Alexander, D.W., Gradon, George, and baby girl. He was preceeded in death by: his grandparents, John Harry Esfeller, Sr. and Vera Zirlott Esfeller; Jesse Watts and Sally Smith Watts; his parents, John Harry Esfeller, Jr. and Lois Elizabeth Watts Esfeller; and by his brother John Harry Esfeller, III. Michael graduated from McGill-Toolen High School in 1975. He attended Faulkner State Jr. College. He was a member of the Mobile Oilman’s Association. Michael really enjoyed working, farming, and taking care of others. He was a pillar of the community and well loved. He and his wife Patricia founded Esfeller Construction Co., Inc. and Esfeller Oil Field Construction, Inc. 36 years ago. They later opened other companies: Esfeller Properties, LLC; Coastal Sand and Gravel, Inc.; JHE Supply, Inc.; and Coastal Ready Mix, Inc. Michael was proud of all the employees and all of their hard work to make these companies successful. Michael and Patricia also ran the Esfeller family farm with the help of devoted, loyal people. He really enjoyed farming, baling hay, cutting grass, and feeding the cattle, even on those cold, stormy winter days, his “girls” had to be fed. Michael enjoyed life and he lived it to the fullest every day. He enjoyed making people laugh. He did his best to make everyone’s day better, whether it was by making them laugh or by providing guidance. The family wants to say “thank you” to all of those special people, each and every one of you, that loved him in life and remember him in death. He will be missed by family, friends, and many people in all walks of life. Pall bearers are: David Campbell, Marc Estes, Terry Franks, Doug Older, Jeremy Sessions, Tobie Sheils, Lee Spafford, and Wendell Spencer. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606 on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 4 – 8 pm. The rosary will be recited at 6 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Bayou La Batre, AL on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 10:00 am. Interment at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Coden, AL. Flowers are welcome or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Margaret’s Catholic Church.
