Michael W. Griffin, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile County, died on Saturday, October 19, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Gwen Griffin; parents George and Zellene Sumrall, Jr.; in laws, Luttrell and Juliette Wright; nieces, Stephanie W. (Mike) Serra and Lilly Sumrall; nephews, Art Wright, J.C. Wright and Morgan Sumrall; brothers-in-law Gordon (Mary Beth) Wright and James Wright; brothers, Scott Sumrall, Kent Sumrall and Hilburn Sumrall; great nephews, Tristen Serra and Jackson Serra; great nieces, Macie Ivy and Katelyn Wright; and close friends. He loved fishing and hunting. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 10 AM. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 PM. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
