

Milton Price Yeager, Sr., age 90 of Mobile, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents John L., Sr. and Lottie Marshall Yeager, daughter Charlotte Yeager Carson and brother John. L. Yeager, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Seiple Yeager, three sons, Milton (Mickey) Price Yeager, Jr. and wife Nan of Benton, AR, Reverend Daniel (Danny) Richard Yeager and wife Cheryl of New Castle, IN, Barry Stephen Yeager, Sr. and wife Ramona of Theodore, AL, son-in-law Louis C. Carson of Mobile, AL, ten grandchildren, Mekelle Yeager Daniel and husband Jason Daniel and their children Isaac, Isabel and Gabrielle of Benton, AR, Matthew Yeager and wife Jennifer and their daughter Elizabeth of Bentonville, AR, Shawn Yeager and wife Terri and sons Ethan and Jase of Wausau, WI, Payton Yeager and wife Sarena and their son Aiden of East Moline, IL, Bryan Yeager of Chicago, IL, Jennifer Yeager Wesson and husband David and their children Colton and Addie of Theodore, AL, Stephen Yeager and wife Shirley of Theodore, AL and Kevin Yeager of Theodore, AL, David Carson, EPO, USCG and wife Ashley of Bellingham, WA and their son Silas, Kimberly Carson Davis and husband David of Chunchula Al and their children Joseph and Charlotte Cheyenne. He is also survived by his brothers Aubrey Ray Yeager and wife Ellyn of Mobile, AL, Thomas Gerald Yeager and wife Tressie of Mobile, AL, sister-in-law Lillian Yeager of Mongtomery, AL, nieces, nephews and other family members. Milton attended Crichton Elementary School and graduated from Murphy High School in 1942 and was in the “Class that went to War”. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. He grew up attending Spring Hill Avenue United Methodist Church and also Spring Hill Avenue Baptist Church and Spring Hill Baptist Church. During this time he was a member of the choir and was tenor soloist who sang for many weddings and funerals. He also served in many positions in Sunday School and Baptist Training Union. He was also a member of Crichton Reunion Planning Committee. He was an avid reader and had a large collection of books. He enjoyed gardening and working with plants and flowers, especially roses. Retiring from Courtaulds of N.A, Inc. in 1986 after 22 years of employment he and Virginia moved to Dauphin Island, AL where they lived for 21 years. While there he served on the Architectural Committee for nine years and on the Board of Adjustment for seven years. He was a member of the Dauphin Island United Methodist Church where he served as a Lay Leader and Chairman of the Trustees. He was a member of the DI UMC Mens Group and participated in many other activities at the church. He moved back to Mobile in August of 2007 to be near his daughter Charlotte Carson who was secretary at Murphy High School and who died in April 2008 of breast cancer. He joined Kingswood United Methodist Church upon his return to Mobile. The family would like to express their thanks to Milton’s caregivers Ruby Tadlock, Edna Roberts, Cindy Tatham and Marzella Wesley. A memorial service will be held at Spring Hill Baptist Church Chapel on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Marshall, Carroll Delcambre, Lee Smith, Porter Roberts, Larry Bridges and Jimmy Marshall. Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kevin Yeager, Stephen Yeager, Matt Yeager, Shawn Yeager, Payton Yeager, Bryan Yeager and David Carson. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Dauphin Island United Methodist Church Building Fund, Spring Hill Baptist Church or Kingswood United Methodist Church.
