Mr. Nelson Gilbert Platt, age 84, a resident of Mobile, Alabama died on Friday, November 16, 2012. Nelson entered the Navy at age 17 and served his country as a fighter pilot in WII. He had a lifelong love for flying. He later retired from Olin Chemicals. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Platt; siblings, John (Sophie) Platt, Esther Moss and Jane Weathers. Graveside services and interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday 1:00 PM until service time. “Absent from the body but present with the Lord”.
