

Dr. Nicholas Lamar Southall DMD, beloved dentist, loving husband, father, brother, uncle and great uncle, passed away on October 12, 2024 at the age of 77. Born on July 10, 1947, Dr. Southall dedicated over 51 years to dentistry providing exceptional care with compassion and skill.
A graduate of Murphy High and the University of Alabama, he went on to earn his DMD from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. After serving in the Navy for 2 years, he returned home to start his private practice. He quickly became known for his kind and gentle approach with a deep commitment to patient care.
Dr. Southall leaves behind the love of his life, Donna Passmore Southall; his son, Joshua Tyler Southall; sister, Janet Southall Connell; niece, Christine Connell Gallo, 2 great nieces and his best dog, Lucy; as well as his dedicated staff, Beth, Tiffany and Kelly; and countless friends and patients who were touched by his kindness and dedication. He is predeceased by his parents, “Pot” and Florence Southall.
Nick as he was known to most, had an adventurous spirit and always lived life to its fullest. He was an avid lover of animals, birds, sunrises and sunsets, flowers especially camellias, star gazing and coastal living. He found joy in the beauty of nature and spent countless hours with Donna cultivating their garden.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, 10:00 to 1:00pm at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL 33606. In honor of his love for animals, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to aideforanimals.org or mailed to Aide for Animals, P.O. Box 50204, Mobile, AL. 36605.
