

Norman Abrams, Sr., a native of Morvin, AL. and a longtime resident of Mobile, departed his earthly life on November 30, 2017.He graduated from Thomasville High School in Thomasville, AL. in 1954. He served in the United States Air Force from April 1955 – April 1959. He did basic training in San Antonio, TX. In addition, was stationed in Limestone, Maine for four years, He was listed as an aircraft mechanic. Upon discharge, he attended Bishop State Junior College where he earned an Associate’s Degree. He retired from Regions Bank (Formerly First Alabama and (Merchants National Bank)after 25 years of service as a Computer Operator .
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Odie and Lovie Abrams, Sr.; his four sisters, Mrs. Anell Brooks, Mrs. Melvina Cowan, Mrs. Eunice Crenshaw and Mrs. Ethel Brooks and two brothers, Preston Abrams and Grady Abrams.
Norman is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Christine Knowles Abrams. He leaves three loving children to cherish his memories, Lisa (Paul, Sr.) Young, of Mobile, AL., Norman (Erica) Abrams, Jr., of Mobile, AL., and Elizabeth Abrams of Spring, TX.; Six grandchildren, Wilbert Young II, Paul Young, Jr., Winston Young, Kendal Foster III., Jade Abrams and Elise Abrams. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Virgie Taylor of Topeka, KS., and Mrs. Betty Greene of Indianapolis, IN., two brothers, Mr. Odie Abrams of Newark, NJ., and Benjamin Abrams of Cleveland, OH. He also had a host of nieces, nephews and other relative. He will always be remembered as a very kind, loving and spiritual man who loved his family dearly.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile, AL., from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Alabama State Veteran’s Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL.,
