

Mrs. Patricia Carey Thompson - A native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. and Esther Carey and her son, Steve Thompson. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, F. Hays Thompson; her sons, Mike (Monica) Thompson, Carey (Barbara) Thompson, Dan Thompson, and John (Denise) Thompson, all of Mobile; daughters, Patty (Claude) Daniel, Kim (John) Weems, Aimee (Dana) Anderson, all of Mobile, Anne (Larry) Hirschfeldt of Spanish Fort, and Mary Patterson of Bainbridge Island, WA; daughter-in-law, Michelle Thompson of Mobile; brother-in-law, Paul (Mary Jeanette) Thompson of Mobile; sisters-in-law, Mary Catherine Martin of Austin, TX, Sister Edith Thompson, D.C. of Evansville, IN and Aimee Thompson of Fairhope; grandchildren, B. Hays (Amy) Thompson, Greg (Kimberly) Thompson, Anna Thompson, Scott Daniel, Carey Daniel, Colleen Daniel, Paul Thompson, David Thompson, Allison (Will) Lancaster, Erin Weems, Abby Weems, Angela (David) Smith, Amy (Dan) Sheffey, Shawn Anderson, Michael Hirschfeldt, Sarah Hirschfeldt, Mark Hirschfeldt, Christy (Trey) Evans, Benton Thompson, Bradley Thompson, Blake Thompson, Noah Patterson, Brennan Patterson, Kit Patterson, Bayleigh Thompson, Daniel Thompson, Kellen Thompson, and Rowan Thompson; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of very close nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pat was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Bishop Toolen High School and Auburn University. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church from 8:30-10:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass with internment at Catholic Cemetery immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of Catholic Cemetery Fence Fund, P.O. Box 40716, Mobile, AL 36640. The family would like to acknowledge the kind and professional care rendered by Dr. Thomas Butler, Dr. Patrick Nolan, Dr. Chris Brown, Dr. Allison Douglas, Dr. Romsel Ang, Dr. Genevieve McLeod, and the staff of the cancer floor of the Mobile Infirmary.
