

Pauline Fredricka Chastang (Pobie) passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Born March 8, 1922, in Louisiana, to Guy and Marie Loewen, Pauline would have turned 94 in a couple of weeks. She lived a full life and was an inspiration to many. Widowed at the age of 53, she stood tall, put her hand on God’s shoulder, and walked gracefully through the rest of her life. She is survived by one twin sister, Bernadette Gartman; two daughters, Deanna (Ben) Walters and Brenda (Steve) Hamby; one son, Henry (Pat) Chastang III; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Lisa) Walters, Dana (Sidney) Price, Todd (Sharon) Hamby, Christy (Tim) Milsap, Chad (Travis) Hamby, Donnie Chastang, and Davey Chastang; eleven great-grandchildren, Ashton, Garrett, and Reese Walters; Blaine and Breanna Price; Clayton and Alexis Hamby; Brittany, Nicholas, and Stephen Milsap; Micah Chastang; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Chastang, Jr; her brothers, William, Arthur, and Guy Loewen; a sister, Catherine Furr; and one grandson, Micah Chastang. The world would not be the same without Pauline Chastang, the matriarch of this family. She left her mark on this world, and her new life begins with death. Visitation will be Sunday, February 21st from 5-8PM at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 22nd at 10AM at Little Flower Catholic Church with interment at Mobile Catholic Cemetery.
