

She passed away suddenly on June 18, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Adelaide Rebecca Roberts Sullivan Gibbs and the late Lofton Dunklin Sullivan.
She is survived by her sister, Pamela Sullivan Wilson and brother in law, Gordon Howell Wilson of Asheville, North Carolina. Additional survivors are her nephew Robert Kevin Wilson of Asheville and niece, Rebecca Christine Wilson Harvey of Knoxville, Tennessee. Christine and her husband Jason are the parents of Penelope Morgan’s great niece and nephew, Sophia Claire Harvey and Sullivan William Harvey of Knoxville, her Siamese cat, Jesse, was her beloved and constant companion. He was so very loved by Penny that we welcomed him as a special addition to her family.
Penny was a graduate of Murphy High School of Mobile. During all of her high school years she played the flute in the marching band and was a member of Phi Gamma Chi sorority. She enjoyed the honor of serving as a Mobile Azalea Trail Maid. She completed undergraduate studies at Auburn University and earned a B.S. degree in medical technology in 1965. Her interesting career included physicians’ office laboratory work in Mobile, Bogalusa, Louisiana, West Point, Georgia and Fairhope, Alabama. In later years she worked for a placement agency for temporary medical professionals. She enjoyed the travel opportunities and the variety of temporary laboratory assignments in twelve states.
She had been married to the late Millard Morgan of Montgomery, Alabama. They owned and operated a plastics molding company in Mobile. She was a Christian and a member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church since her youth.
Her personal talents included proficiency in piano and flute, composition of poetry and prose, watercolor creations and stained glass artistry.

Graveside services will be held at Pine Crest West Cemetery on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church, Dauphin Street, at 10:30 a.m. in the church parlor.
A celebration of Penny’s life will be held at the home of Pam and Gordon Wilson, 6 Weston Lane, Arden, North Carolina on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
