Philip Randall Larson

Philip Randall Larson, age 80, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, passed away on July 30, 2024. Philip’s life was marked by dedication to his family and a rich career that spanned the Merchant Marines and a 25-year tenure at the Alabama State Docks. Known for his colorful stories and deep love for Alabama football, he was a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew him.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Mamie Lucille and Rhodie Henry Larson, his brother Buddy Larson, and his stepson, John B. Campbell. He is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Larson, his brothers Donnie Larson and Pete Larson (Pat), his sister Dianne Sutherland (Randy), and his stepsons Scott Campbell (Sheryl) and Grant Campbell (Vivi). Philip also leaves behind six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy to him.

Philip’s legacy extends beyond his professional achievements. His warmth, humor, and unwavering loyalty to his family and passions made him a pillar in their lives. The family extends special thanks to Charles Gillespie and Tony Francis for their invaluable support during this time.

Philip’s memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We will see you on the other side.

Visitation for Philip will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, with a chapel service immediately following. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
