Rita Orr Horton-Oubre

Rita Orr Horton-Oubre – loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, a 59 year-old native and resident of Mobile passed away Thursday, June 29, 2011. Mrs. Oubre was a beautician who formerly worked at Gayfer’s and J.C. Penney’s. A good Christian woman, Rita was a member of Pathway Temple. She enjoyed Christmas, singing, listening to Christian music, gardening, and being on the water, especially fishing and crabbing. Her heart was her grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lydia Orr. She is survived by her husband, Philip Oubre; sons, Scott Orr, Larry Horton, Jr., and Jason Horton (Amber); step-son, Justin Oubre; sisters, Teresa Meier (Bob) and Charlotte Sanders (Chesley); brothers, Raymond Orr, Jr., Bruce Orr, and Tony Orr (Marsha); grandchildren, Cameron and Jordan Orr, Austin and Jacob Horton, and Brheannon, Cameron, Caleb, and Jaydon Horton; cousins, Susanne Gramlich and Tanya Scott; special aunt, Andrea Clark; sister-in-law, Denise Waters (Greg); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Saturday, July 2, 2011, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
