Rita Wallace Syson - age 90, a native of Boston, MA and a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL passed away quietly July 9, 2011. Rita was a member of the New Mobilian's and Cosmopolitan Club. She was also a devote Catholic, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, affectionately known to all as "Granny".
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Marie Turner and husband, Jimmy Turner of Mobile, AL; two sons, William "Bill" Wallace and wife, Diane Wallace of Atlanta, GA and Robert "Bob" Wallace and wife, Charlotte Wallace of Mobile, AL; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, other surviving family members including: her nephew, Freddie Guarino; and her nieces, Jackie Grande and Dorothy Bellomo, all of Boston, MA.
Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Radney Funeral Home, Dauphin Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from Corpus Christi Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 9 A.M. until 11 A.M. on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
