Robbie C Hughes

Robbie Corzatte Hughes, age 93, passed away peacefully at home in Fairhope May 30, 2023. She is survived by her husband, Donald Hughes (following 69 wonderful years of marriage), 3 children: Donald Wayne Hughes of Arnoldsville, Ga., Donna Carol Hewitt of Jackson, Tn., and Susan Elaine Cline of Tallahassee, Fl., 7 grandchildren and 8 Ggrandchildren.

Born in Fairhope, Robbie leaves many fond memories of her life with everyone. After marriage, she was a good Navy wife requiring many sacrifices for lengthy periods when her husband was deployed on an aircraft carrier. Subsequently, she lived in many remote U.S. Forest Service National Forest areas in numerous States. Following retirement, she and her husband enjoyed sailing the Bahamas several winters on a 44 foot sailboat. On their own, they travelled all over the world, often reaching their general destination on military cargo planes utilizing “space available” benefits. Seating was usually on what you call “bucket”seats which fold up to make space for cargo and some times involved climbing a 30 foot ladder to access the passenger compartment. Less than 4 foot 11 inches tall, she impressed everyone and everyone loved her.

Internment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery at NAS Pensacola, Fl. 10:30 AM June 19, 2023
